Frustrating Yet Soo Cute!

Ellie has started being interested in 'helping' me feed Kahlei her dinner. It started the other night as I was feeding Kahlei while cooking our tea. Ellie came up and picked up the spoon while I was stiring the chicken and that was it. Now, it's her job. If I'm doing it she's not at all happy. Mostly she does okay, but tonight she was all about pretending to chew everytime she got the spoon near Kahlei's mouth, so the food was going all over poor Kahlei and Ellie's standing there going "mmm mmm mmm".

How cute is it?

I have uploaded a few more photos to Redbubble that I would like to share, too.

Images are linked, feel free to click thru - take a look, leave a comment or buy ;) Okay, so I am actually avoiding getting into my BOTCT layout for week 3... so, I should get stuck into that.

Bad Blogger...

I have been really bad at updating of late. I am simply way too exhausted to think. I don't know why I am suddenly so shattered. Kahlei is starting to sleep a little better at night, Ellie still sleeps thru and has started waking later in the morning than she was. Both girls go down for a nap at the same time during the day, though Kahlei doens't sleep very long.

Kahlei has developed a case of seperation anxiety. As soon as I move out of her field of vision she freaks out, which makes the time she is awake trying, especially when Ellie's demanding my attention too. I don't feel like that can be the reason I am feeling like this, obviously it's a part of it.

So, it's time for a new Answer  Me This. I have had complaints that my last question was too hard!!

What is your all time favourite movie and why? If you can't name just one give me your top five ;)

BOTCT Week 2 Freebies

It's that time again! This competition sure goes fast, as soon as you've uploaded a layout you're thinking about the next one. This week the theme was to incorporate a musical theme into our layouts. We - team Color Me Crazy - decided on the song 1, 2, 3, 4 by Plain White Tee's. Each of us used a different verse on our layout, for which we used Color With Caryn's Happily kit and scrapped our significant other. Only them. No kiddos, no wives just our lovely men.

Here is what I came up with

Pop on over to the Color Me Crazy thread to check out the awesome work Brenda, Erin, Jenn and Sarah have turned in for this round. Don't forget to leave them some love. Once you've had a look-see don't forget to vote for us!!

This week I have created my first ever template and wordart. I hope you like it :)

IMG_9500Today we took the kiddos for a walk out to the point. We climbed over rocks and explored rock pools. Ellie is a real adventurer. She was so into climbing the rocks on her own.

IMG_9513We watched seals in the ocean (well, their flippers anyway) and searched for the whale that was meant to be out there.

IMG_9527Caleb found a crab, which had him intrigued. See him looking at me?? freaky.

IMG_9543On our way back to the point we checked out the shipwrecked boiler. Ellie had a good look around and was sooo cute!

IMG_9552James and I thought we saw a penguin... however, it turned out to be some other bird - so, here's a photo of 'not a penguin'

IMG_9573This is 'not a seal'. Once Caleb made it back to the point Caleb thought he saw the seals on the beach... I think we all need to get our eyes checked!

IMG_9564It was so much fun. The only problem was my toe :( it's still really very sore, so it made the whole thing harder than it should have been but it was so worth it.

IMG_9502 This is the kind of outing I have been wanting to do for a long time now and seeing the delight of Ellie made it so amazing. Kahlei really enjoyed it, too, even though she was exhausted.

IMG_9577Love family outings <3

And before I go - I just want to say YAY! Julie won MasterChef! She was one of my favourites from the very start. I am so happy for her!

And if you want to Answer Me This you can do it here.

Answer Me This

Hmm, I posted this earlier but it appears we've had a glitch!

This week I'm going to stick with an easy question: What is your drink of choice?

For me, it's coke all the way. I love my coke, used to drink at least 2 litres a day (can you say addicted?). Now, it's just for special occassions.

I will do a more updated post later on, for now we have Caleb visiting and I've put us over quota so the internet is slooooooooooow as...

Taking The Plunge

The other weekend we bought Ellie some adorable Little Miss undies, which she chose herself, with the intent to start toilet training. So, for now I've been putting her in undies when we go outside for morning tea to kind of 'phase' her (or maybe me) into it. Yesterday, I put them on her and we went outside where we played, had morning tea, I hung clothes and then James called and we decided we needed milk so the girls and I went out... I got to the shop and picked Ellie up to cross the road and realised she was still only wearing undies. So, I told her "Don't do a wee" and we did our shop. When I was putting her in the car I reminded her "Don't do a wee until we get home." And she didn't. We got home and she was still dry, so I popped her on the potty. She sat there forever. Reading. Singing. Telling jokes. Eventually she was no longer happy to sit there so I figured she really musn't need to go... but she'd not been in AGES.

I got her off the potty and reminded her to come and tell me if she needs to do a wee.

Of course, she didn't. I'd barely turned around and she had wet herself. This is how it seems to go. For whatever reason she will no longer go on the potty. She will sit there happily until she really needs to go and gets off. If I try and get her to stay she throws a fit. I don't want potty training to be an issue, so I think we'll leave it for now. The two things that frustrate me most about this are 1- she was doing wees on the potty, but I couldn't commit to full-on training at the time as Kahlei was still very demanding and 2- she hates to have her nappy changed. She wants to sit up instead of lying down and once the nappy's off she wants to get up and run around. Grr.

I am thinking we'll just wait it out and see if she starts showing signs that she's ready. Again.

I'm also trying to wean Kahlei off being wrapped for bed. During the night she wakes herself up when she wriggles and unwraps herself and she's getting too big to be wrapped tighly enough that she can't get out, so I decided yesterday it was time. Ellie stopped being wrapped at a very young age and had no issue with the transition, mostly because she wanted to be able to move but Kahlei has trouble distinguishing that it's bed time if I haven't wrapped her up. She will lie in bed and talk to her animals or play with the mobile. Once she does go to sleep, though, she sleep better. Last night she only woke 3 times for feeds, as opposed to 5 or more because suddenly her arms are free...

To help her figure out it's bed time, I have chosen some words to say to help her. Obviously, I always say something but it's never exactly what I said the last time, so I have a little nighty night saying to help her associate that with bed. Once she's got that we should have some better nights...

Anyway, I should get going, we're going to visit my grandparents tonight/tomorrow as my parents will be there so we can pick up Caleb. He's going to come visit with me for the holidays :)

AND if you've been loving the kits I've shown you from Color With Caryn, sadly,  she's having a closing shop sale at all three of her stores, so you should go and pick some awesome deals up - Digiridoo, Enchanted Studios and Scrappity Doo-Dah

OH!!! And I wanted to say thanks for those of you who commented and answered my question on Tuesday. All your answers made me think I should start expanding my cooking repertoire!! If you haven't yet Answered Me This but you'd like to, you can do so here :)
