Girls

Well, both girlies are starting to pick up. They're both getting back to their cheeky, active selves.

Kahlei has realised that she can only move backwards and is quite capable of finding her way to whatever catches her eye. She scouts out the area, hones in on something, turns around and does her little wiggly-backwards crawl where ever she wants to go and then she turns back around to her intended target. She's fast, too, for all the monevering she has to do. The evening she went and got one of my books off the bookshelf and took it halfway across the loungeroom before I even realised she had it!

Ellie's really starting to grow up. Today, she brought me a flower and when I said thank you she replied with "You're welcon". It was adorable. She is also at a stage where she is constantly making us aware of what is hers. Which, unfortunately means she is not a very good sharer at the moment. Yesterday, I wanted her to play with Kahlei and I as I passed the balloon to Kahlei. When Ellie realised we were using her balloon with a 2 on it she snatched it up and held it behind her back. When I asked her to share with Kahlei she pointed at the balloon and said "Ellie". She has said "mine" or "that's mine" in these situations before, but never put her name to it like that.

She is also aware of what is not hers. The other day we were outside having morning tea and Kahlei tried to give Ellie a piece of biscuit she had been munching on. Ellie looked at it and said "That's yours. Kahlei."

My First Mini!!

I have just finished my very first mini kit! It's for the August Color Challenge over at Enchanted Studio Scraps. I really loved doing it, once I got into it anyway. At the start I struggled to get going until I made a paper I really liked and from there I was able to complete the rest!

You can download it here. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think if you download it - thanks :)

Ellie is sick now, too. James is a little under the weather and I can feel something coming on. It's so annoying! I still haven't looked thru the photos from Ellie's birthday, but here's one from that day at the park.

We gave her a doll's house with a barbie and some In The Night Garden figurines to play with and she loves it. She has all her little people sitting or sleeping - or going to the potty, lol. She has a wonderful imagination.

Sounds like Kahlei is awake already, so I had better go and get her.

She's Two!!

Ellie turned two yesterday :) She's such a big girl!!! I will upload some pics tomorrow. She's had a wonderful time - Aunty Case was here from Wednesday to yesterday, Great Nan & Great Gramps visited Thursday and today we went out to lunch with Grandma and then went to her house for cake. All in all she's had a blast and it's not over yet - next weekend Nanna, Uncle Max, Uncle Joshy and Aunty Casey are coming for a celebration.

Poor little Kahlei is sick :( she woke up last night all sniffly and stuffed up. She's been a happy one today considering she's got watery eyes and her nose is constantly running!! James and I are feeling ordinary - how can we not when she spent alot of last night in our bed snotting all over us?? Hopefully, she will pick up soon and Ellie won't get it at all. :S

Been Sick

So, we went to the Doctors the other week (was that the last time I posted? I can't even remember) and I have been sick since. It's always the way - we go for something innocent like immunisations (okay, that doesn't sound so innocent, but you get what I mean) or whatever and someone always ends up catching something. Luckily, I only had a head cold and tummy bug - not swine flu, as our Dr mentioned he had seen some confirmed cases and it really puts you off when you walk into the surgery reception area and there are people with face masks on. Of course, they don't necissarily have swine flu, it's a precaution the surgery asks you to take if you have flu like symptoms (or a precaution you take yourself if you're worried about what others in the room may be carrying), but you still sit as far away from those people as possible. Really, you should probably sitting closer to them, since they're actually doing the right thing and not sitting there coughing all over everybody...

All-in-all last week was miserable. I am feeling better now, however. Luckily - there is plenty to do before Case comes on Wednesday, my grandparents on Thursday and Ellie turns 2 on Friday. Can you believe it?

Speaking of which I need to clear the space where her pressie will go!! Before I go - some LOs.

Here is one I did of Kahlei's first finger painting experience using the newest kit by LDrag Designs called Doodle-luscious.

Kahlei's First...

Kahlei is really growing up fast now. Yesterday she had her second tooth cut thru (middle, bottom, right) and started 'bopping' to music. Over the past few days she has started to crawl backwards and can get from one side of the room to the other quite quickly.

Today she did two new things that I am excited about. Firstly, she fell asleep on the floor. This might not seem like anything exciting, but somehow it is. Ellie was always such a pain to get to sleep anywhere and Kahlei is very routine orientated, but if she wants to go to sleep before her normal time she starts to whinge. Today, she was playing on her mat while Ellie and I got paint and morning tea ready. When we were ready I told Ellie to go and see if Kahlei was ready while I put everything on the tray. As I came around the bench Ellie was saying "Are you sleeping?" and I just assumed that Kahlei was facing away from her, but when I looked the little darling was fast asleep. So, Ellie and I went outside and sat on the veranda while Kahlei had her little nap.

Once Kahlei was up we sat on the grass to have some morning tea and do some painting. Kahlei has been interested in watching Ellie paint previously, so I had the brain wave to let her join in today. I gave her a paint brush, which she waved around, had a bit of a suck on and then discarded in favour of playing with the paper. When she started reaching for the tubs of paint I had another brainwave - as Ellie was finished painting - I tipped all the remaining paint onto the tray and let her get her hands dirty. She LOVED it. Ellie joined in, squishing the paint around.

I remember doing something like this with Ellie at about the same age as Kahlei is now. She spent the whole time eating the paint. Kahlei spent the whole time exploring the feel of the paint between her fingers and watching as she mixed the colours together. At the end of it she had lots of paint up her arms and barely any on her face. They had a blast.

I, of course, have some happy snaps that I wanted to share here, but for whatever reason our gallery won't upload them and my resident computer man is currently working on someone else's computer problem via phone (ie James's mum needs help, too). So, once he's done that I will get him onto this. Poor thing ;)

I am not feeling too crash hot at the moment. Got a bit of a head cold/chesty thing going on. Yesterday we went to the Drs and he said he has seen some confirmed cases of Swine flu and to just keep an eye on things. Afterwards, I had to go for a blood test. I hate needles. They terrify me. So, I go into the waiting room and am quickly called by the guy who did my last blood test, which makes me even more nervous as he's very shaky. He left the room to get some vials, bringing back six and then proceeded to get out another 7 in front of me. As I looked at the 13 vials I began to panic. Just a little. He stood there for a moment, umming and ahhing, before he said he could probably cut it down. Phew!

So, he did. To 12.

He starts getting things ready and I turn away to intently read the sign on the wall about blood. It felt like it was taking literally forever and it was starting to hurt and he goes "Almost done," and I tentively turn towards him and my tingling right arm as he adds "Just six more to go."

Oh. Back to studying the sign!

Once it was all over I felt drained, my arm felt heavy and my head light. I still feel light headed, probably from the head cold rather than the blood test now though!

It's That Time Again!

For round three of BOTCT we had to come up with and work to a formula as a team.

Our formula was;
10 – flowers
9 – buttons
8 – staples
7 – leaves
6 – ribbons
5 – stitches
4 – papers
3 - swirls
2 - pics
1 - Alpha

And here is my Layout

I really struggled with this, I simply do not scrap this way. I start with a kit or a photo and go from there - adding what I feel is needed as I see fit. Starting with a list and creating to fit that really put me off, but in the end I actually love what I finished with.

Check out the amazing layouts Erin, Jenn, Sarah and Brenda created here.

In keeping with the last two weeks I have another freebie for you to pick up and all I ask in return is that you vote COLOR ME CRAZY!

You can download it here. I'd love to hear what you think!

Okay, it seems Ellie isn't going to sleep again today (the neighbours are having work done and it's noisy). It's going to be a loooonnnggg week!

VOTE COLOR ME CRAZY!!
Thank you :)

Design Me This Freebie

This month's Design Me This challenge at Digiridoo Scraps has been more of a stretch for me than the previous months. I really struggled with the way my elements were coming out and with the coloring of certain things. Anyways, I finally finished a few that I was kinda happy with:

You can download it here. I would love to hear what you think and if you use them, see what you come up with!

Now - here are my newest LOs

"Oh, Mojo where are you?"

Grr. I just wrote this and I did some weird clicky thing and *poof* it's gone!

I have been trying to get some scrapping done. Either a layout or a bit of playing around with designing, but it's just not happening. So, I am watching The Devil Wears Prada and essentially zoning out. I wasn't going to post today, however, I decided to share some piccies with you.

IMG_9992That's right! My baby has started sitting up, fully unsupported. At first it was just when she was eating and as soon as she was finished she would topple over. Today she sat out on the lawn for ages, just eating, looking, laughing. It was gorgeous. She is gorgeous. So clever :)

IMG_9995My favourite thing is that now the two girls can sit outside together and have their morning tea. Today they both loved their cucumber sticks and pretty much left everything else. So adorable.

IMG_0009This is the face of my munchkin trying broccolli for the first time, she was not really impressed and that's saying something as she eats everything that I give her.

IMG_0023And here's my little diva, at a happy moment during today. Life's tough for an almost two year old and Ellie's making sure we know all about it at the moment. Tantrums are extreme and somewhat overwhelming when they come one on top of the other, but we're surviving. For the moment.

Anyway, I don't have the mojo to write a decent post either, so this is me signing off.
