Oh, my!

What’s That?

A visit from Nanna means sleep ins for Mummy and Daddy, busy and full days for the girls and coffee. And by coffee I mean a lime milkshake, quarter-strength cappuccino in a mug and two baby cinos.

This visit, Nanna tried a little bribery to get Ellie to go potty before we went out, the whole potty issue is a post for another day, and it did, of course work. Nanna did ask me if it was okay to offer her an iced chocolate, to which I said “yes, of course.” Why not?

When the promised iced chocolate arrived, Ellie wouldn’t even look at it. She was completely freaked out. Her answer to the issue at hand was to turn her back on it, probably in the hope that it would disappear. my reaction was simply “Ho-ly crap!” I am not entirely sure what I thought an iced chocolate was when we’d talked about it earlier, but for whatever reason I hadn’t realised it would be, well, an actual iced chocolate.

A spoonful of the offending drink changed Ellie’s mind about ignoring it and she got to work devouring her treat. It was a struggle for her as the large cup meant spills and spills meant putting the drink down to wipe the table, but eventually she was done.

Next time I will think things through before I say yes…

  3. All I can say is YUM! I'm heading to coffee with my mum tomorrow, so I think I'll be getting myself something deliciously bad looking like that!

  4. @Maria Yes, do! I am sure it won't be nearly as terrifying for you either πŸ˜‰ Enjoy coffee with your mum, I love doing those things – so special!

  5. Oh my goodness! She must have been amped up after that! I guess that's what grandmas are for. πŸ™‚

  6. I just love reading your posts! I am slowly making my way through them…your pictures are georgous~ thank you again for visiting my page… I feel the potty thing but my mom has a habit of not reminding my daughter and when my daughter spends the night with her "Gredda" it takes a week to get her back to "normal"… enjoy your time with your mom.

  7. wow that looks sooooo good! I can just imagine she wouldn't know where to start tackling that drink …it is a mammoth effort for a little one πŸ™‚

  8. @Wanderlust – She was, but I figured Nanna could deal with that!
@mmsankey – thank you for the compliments, I am so glad you're enjoying it here! We don't need someone to come and mix her up for us to have toilet training issues, she simply does not like it.
@Philippa, Neevah and Liam – I was secretly hoping (and thinking) she wouldn't finish it. I was completely shocked when she did!
