Choo Choo!! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Review

In partnership with Porter Novelli and Walt Disney, we have been given the opportunity to review and enjoy these products below.

Getting our second lot of Mickey Mouse goodies was a little like Christmas all over again. It caused much jumping, screaming and general jubilation. I honestly did not think my girls would love Mickey Mouse this much. But, they do.

We first put the ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Choo Choo Express‘ DVD on while getting an appraisal for our house from our now realtor. The girls were perfect through out, happily watching as Mickey and friends find all the pieces for the Choo Choo Express.

I have to say, I think this is their favourite DVD so far. Firstly, it’s a feature length ‘episode’, with what I would consider an intermission part way through. Then there’s the simple fact that it’s about a train, they love trains. So much so that Ellie used to be convinced her name was Ellie Thomas.

And then there’s the shape focus, which is actually perfect right now as we read a shape book every night and picking shapes in everyday life, TV shows and books is one of their favourite things to do.

Since my first review, they have really started to understand, act on and enjoy the interaction part of the show.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Choo Choo Express‘ is available at all good DVD retailers for $19.95.

The ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’ soundtrack is a winner here, too. Especially considering this compilation of songs from and inspired by the show has the Hot Dog song. I love that it gets them dancing. Through the whole CD and then Hot Dog gets repeated a few dozen times. It wears them out and anything that makes nap time last longer is a winner in my books.

The songs are catchy and often times based on the same tune as nursery rhymes or songs we already know, making it easier for my girls to pick up the words.

On a more personal note, all this talk and singing about Hot Dogs led me to buy frankfurts the other day. I had a major craving!

Dancing to Hot Dog. Again.
