Rubbermaid Reveal Mop Review + GIVEAWAY!
The opportunity to test this Rubbermaid Reveal Mop could not have come at a better time considering we are in the motions of putting our house on the market and soon enough I will be getting calls at any time of day to have people come through to look and (hopefully) buy.
I may have mentioned once or twice that Kahlei is the mess maker to end all mess makers, in case you don’t believe me, here’s a little proof;
To say I have been stressing about inspections is an understatement. I have even considered joked about sending the girls to Siberia in order to keep the floors and rooms clean. So, I literally jumped at the chance and never before have I been so excited to acquire a new cleaning tool than when the delivery man brought my mop to the door.
I have a hate-hate-HATE relationship with mopping the floor. Especially since the ‘Kahlei Situation’ began (ie she became mobile). We have an ‘octopus’ mop – you know, the one with all the bits that doesn’t do much more than slosh water around on the floor. I would have to put aside a whole day to wash the floor because the ‘sloshing’ did little to actually clean anywhere that people had been so I would have to do spot cleans then bring out my bucket of hot water for some sloshing and then, because it didn’t matter what I did, I always ended up with so much water on the floor it would take hours to dry. With three children, taking a whole day to wash the floors is too ridiculous. I mean, really. They would dry and I would allow the children back out and in 5 minutes there’d be something else that needed mopping up.
If you’re nodding along as you read then you are in the right place, my friend (did that sound a little too much like an infomercial?). Throw away your ‘octopus’ mop and join the Rubbermaid Reveal Revolution… hehe.
Seriously, though, this worked for me. I popped all the children in their respective nap time beds (this is how all floor washing days begin), filled the refillable bottle with earth’s choice and went to work.
One of the things I loved straight off was the ability to use my choice of cleaning solution. There’s no need to buy any special detergent, or fancy brand. For me, it is just the right height, however for taller people like James the lack of an extendable handle makes it a little on the short side. Although, he tells me he still likes it overall.
The swivel motion of the head makes it easy to mop around furniture and the maneuverability is pretty good. I am able to mop under our TV cabinet without having to move it, which I did have to do with the ‘octopus’.
It’s quick and easy to use, there’s no bucket of water to contend with and the spray feature means the floor doesn’t end up saturated. I was able to wash the floor with nap time to spare and it was dry by the time I finished feeding Jasper.
The micro fibre pad is machine washable, so once I was done I peeled it off the Velcro, threw it in the wash and it came out good as new.
Washing the floor didn’t write off a whole day and because it’s no fuss, I can get it out numerous times a day as the need arises (like, when Kahlei’s awake), run it over spills and keep on top of this part of my housekeeping.
I even did a little video of my floor being cleaned for your viewing pleasure;
