One Little Word: January

Supplies: Overlay: Ali Edwards
Texture: Kim Klassen
Butterflies: Best Laid Plans – Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild

After posting my One Little Word post I got a lovely surprise from a dear friend, Virginia and her new husband in the form of a gift certificate for (amazingly) the exact amount for Ali’s One Little Word class.

I once believed Virginia would be my sister in law and got quite attached to her, unfortunately for me she and my brother didn’t last. Luckily for her she found the wonderful Danny and I am so happy for her, but I digress.

I have been so enjoying being a part of Ali’s class. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s full of wonderful, warm and insightful people. I love learning about other people’s words and what effect it is having on their lives already and I am adoring looking through the gallery. Maybe this will ease me back into my scrap booking.

This month, Ali encouraged us to learn about our word which made me more aware of it’s presence in my life. With Ali’s direction, I focused on what I wanted to invite into my life with this word. I didn’t get as much time as I would have liked to do more research, find more inspiration and simply focus.

Today, I hope to have a moment to jot down some plans and thoughts for the coming month in terms of  goals.

The above photo is my title page. I haven’t got an album and haven’t actually printed anything out yet, you know – it’s hard to find somewhere to print documents when your husband is a Xerox man… so, here are my January assignments in digital form;

Supplies: Overlay – Ali Edwards
Textures: Kim Klassen
Embellishments: Monica’s Wedding – JScrapbug (retired)

To be able to flick through my album and have a physical reminder, as well as a place to collect other thoughts, pieces and materials would be beneficial. Maybe during February I will be able to print and compile my pages into an album. I didn’t want to type the thesaurus and invitation cards, however when it got to last night and I still didn’t have my pages I had to go ahead and do so.

For more inspiration, follow along with today’s OLW Blog Hop, the next blog is Amy of Reflective Snapshots

I am so delighted to be on this journey and I highly recommend joining the class if you’re tossing it up. Thank you Virginia and Danny, I needed this xo

  10. Hi Becky. I popped over from your guest post at everythingisedible. I don't have babies yet, but I can just imagine how you feel! I saw my friend's babies from when they were just born and now they're little toddlers! Time flies too fast.

This is the first time I've heard of blog hopping. How does it work? I'm quite new to blogging so I'm still finding my way around it.

  11. Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Sharon, welcome! A blog hop is basically where you 'hop' from one blog to another that is participating in the theme. The list above is the stops to hop to… lol

I just said to Danny "Becky wrote about us!" and made him read it.

He said "She didn't use our REAL names though". "What do you mean?" I questioned. To which he replied…

    "TOES AND STINKY CAT!"

I'm so glad you are enjoying the class. I can't wait to see some more of your projects and pages. The ones you have done so far are beautiful. xxx
