Happy Birthday to ME!!

Yesterday, I turned a ripe old 28. I’m not entirely sure how I came to be quite this old – last time I checked I could have sworn I was only 23.

I woke the day before the dreaded event with to find heavy bags under my eyes, a sign of things to come I’ve been told. A little more exhaustion to the mix, because, honestly I am not tired enough these days.

The actual day itself was lovely. A sleep in for James and I as the Munchies were hanging with Nanna over the weekend and then, as we slowly made our way home we stopped off at the Coffee Club in the ‘Bay for a scrummy lunch and a little shopping and later on a vanilla slice from the Braidwood Bakery (seriously, if you’re even on your way through TRY their sausage rolls or vanilla slice. So good).

After four hours of chatting, planning and simply being together as we traveled the day was topped off by coming home to a Roast Pork and snuggles with my babies.

So far, 28’s not too bad (bar the bags under the eyes). I’m only a day and a bit in, so we’ll see how it goes!

How was 28 for you (if you’ve already been here). If not; are you looking forward to this age?

  1. I just turned 36 (shock!!)
When I turned 28 I was 8 months pregnant with my first child. I had insulin dependent gestational diabetes and I had to be very careful with what I ate. I think I allowed myself a small slice of birthday cake though!
My baby will be 8 in about 3 weeks time and that freaks me out a whole lot more than my turning 36!
I'm glad you had a lovely day and forget the bags…remember that if we wish away our laughlines, we wish away the memories that made them!!

  2. Happy birthday to you,
    Happy birthday to you,
    Happy birthday Dear Becky
    Happy birthday to you!!
I loved 28 …. one of my best years ever. Hope you have a fantastic year – bags under the eyes and all!!

  3. Happy birthday Becky!!

I was pregnant with my first when I was 28 too – although only 4 months pregnant on my birthday!

  4. Happy Birthday for Monday!!

I am turning 28 in Decmeber and am not really looking forward to it at the moment. I already feel old but I think having kids young does that.

  5. 28 was overall quite a good year, though mixed, for me. The first part wasn't so great because I hated hated HATED my job; but I knew I was leaving so it was just a matter of hanging in there. I left in late 2008 – about halfway through being 28 – and the rest of the year was fantastic. Every year has gotten better and better since. Am now 31 and, though I know it's a huge cliche, I really do like being in my 30s.
PS I know someone who grew up at Braidwood! Never actually been there myself, but apparently it's a gorgeous place.
