Canberra Ballon Spectacular | Wordless Wednesday

Had I been able to blog last week, this would have been my Wordless Wednesday post. Unfortunately, due to wind only a few were tethered to the ground and they didn’t take off.

A photo in front of the Sky Whale (or ‘Boob whale’) was necessary

  1. Those balloons are amazing, Becky. I couldn’t for the life of me work out what was happening in the photo you posted on Facebook – I thought the druids had landed! x

    • Haha! Sorry about that, it is a bit druid like, isn’t it? Jasper did not like them, except for a littler one at the end that he took photos of. They’re certainly amazing.

  2. Awesome photos! I thought they looked like boobs!

    • Thanks Kaz. You certainly can’t miss them, can you??

  3. Awesome balloons …are they boobs ?

    • Haha, yes, Trish – they’re boobs. It’s called the Sky Whale, otherwise known as the boob whale, apparently. I’m not really sure of the point of it. A lot of people find it offensive, I’ve discovered – I thought it was quite interesting and not at all as ugly as I’d thought it would be in real life.

  4. Love the boobs, made me smile – bet it was an early start!

    • They’re great! My mum was pretty repulsed by them, as are a lot of people. Glad they made you smile! It was reasonably early, yes (5 something), and after being kept awake ALL night by my night owl brother who thinks night is the time to sing and make lost of noise it was quite difficult!

  5. I can see how these big balloons would be scary for a little person. That boob whale is weird! A great thing to have gone to see, the parrot is cool. Beautiful family shots too xx

    • Yes, they’re definitely quite daunting, especially for a little person who had no idea what we were going to be seeing. Thankfully, he wasn’t so terrified that he wanted to leave. He wanted to be there, but scared too, if that makes sense.

  6. So lovely! And they’re really looks like boobs. HAHAHA Great shots anyway.

    • Haha, they do, don’t they! They can be confronting up close!
