Term 2, here we come

We’ve had a pretty awesome Easter holiday break. We’ve been sandy, met the Easter Bilby, jumped on jumping castles, discovered mushrooms at grandma’s, fed grandpa, visited numerous different parks, seen The Lego Move (again), loomed, jumped elastics, ridden bikes, swum, stayed at Nanna’s, laughed with uncles, seen Canberra from Telstra Tower, hung with pelicans, seen stingrays and played Mini Golf with Pa and Nanna Jo and it’s been awesome.

For the most part, all three kids have been getting along a million times better than they were last term. I’ve been so much more relaxed and happy. It’s been so lovely.

Today, they go back to begin term 2 and I am not thrilled. After these holidays, I am wistfully dreaming of us all doing a trip around Australia; exploring, learning, enjoying and being. How good would that be?

Instead, I’ll be figuring out how to gently ease Jasper back into life with his sisters in school. He was just getting used to it when the holidays rolled around, poor little man.

So, I’m putting on my big girl pants and helping my boy settle again.

What are you up to today? Are your kids back at school?
Am I the only mother who doesn’t want school to start again, not even a little bit?
Would you like to travel around Australia with your family?

Linking up with Jess for #ibot

  1. Oh yes! I’m dreaming of taking a little break with my girl and exploring different places away from home too… I hope it comes true and hope you manage to fulfill your travel dream too!

  2. All the very best wishes for an easy start to the term x

  3. My boys were meant to go back to school last week, but I decided no. It was too nice having them all at home doing nothing, and they were enjoying it. So, today is also their first day back and they were happy to go, and I was happy to take them. Sometimes a couple of extra days is all you need.

  4. It sounds like you guys had an awesome school holidays so I can see why you are so hesitant to head back!

  5. I hear ya! I hate the first day back (and the rest of the term) and then we collapse in a heap at the end of term. I also have a new kindy bunch to meet (at a new school) but third time in, I don’t have much enthusiasm (bad, bad mumma!!)

  6. It’s my dream to travel around Australia and NZ with our kids – and I love school holidays also, but I’ve only got one there! Next year will be strange as will just have my youngest at home, now that will be trying I’m sure, how do you entertain him all day? Em (also visiting as part of #teamIBO) but you know I’m here anyway x

  1. See ya later, Term 2 | Becky and James - […] not sue how we’re going to top last holidays, but I know we’re going to give it a good…
